In 1997, following the dissolution of their previous band Danger Prone Daphne, Andy and Kirk started a little project they named The German Art Students. After cycling through a couple of drummers early on, Annelies and Randy joined within the next year to make up the foursome that are still playing together today. We began this site in 2017, dubbing it the Year Of GAS to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Check in periodically for current band news, memories, unreleased audio, old show posters, photographs, history, and examples of the general goofiness and camaraderie it takes to keep a band together for more than two decades.
